The Torsby Health Center has approximately 10,600 registered patients and a staff of around 35 people with broad expertise.

The medical team consists of four specialists and five resident doctors – with a variety of ages and experiences. District nurses, practical nurses, social workers, psychologists, CBT therapists, medical administrators, and foot therapists also work here.

We are co-located with Torsby Hospital. In the same building, there is the emergency department, laboratory, radiology, outpatient rehabilitation, family center, and outpatient psychiatry. Torsby is strategically located with good train, bus, and flight connections to Karlstad and Stockholm.

Your Responsibilities

As a specialist in general medicine, you will have a stimulating and developing job focused on continuity and your own patient list. The assignment may include rounds in home care and nursing homes, supervision of students and training doctors, as well as work at child health centers and maternal health centers. You will work closely with competent colleagues from various professional categories. On-call duty is included according to a rotating schedule.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine.

• The ability to take initiative and plan, organize, and prioritize your work independently.
• Confidence in pressured situations and clear communication in meetings with both patients and colleagues.
• Easy to collaborate and thrive in an environment where dialogue and cooperation are a natural part of everyday life.
• A quality-conscious approach and good judgment in medical assessments.
• A valid driver's license is required as travel may be involved in the position.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Experience in health center work and supervision of training doctors is an advantage.
